Secured Landfill System

Secured landfill is the most cost-effective system of hazardous waste final disposal. The hazardous waste must be treated through the process of stabilization and/or solidification prior in order to disposal in secured landfill. For the liner system of secured landfill, the main component consists of five parts: compacted clay, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), geonet, geotextile and geosynthetic clay. These materials are arranged in each layers of liner system, as shown in Figure.
